  • Anyone in Texas????

I know there are some friends on here that live in Texas so I am going to ask some advice of ya'll.

Hubby may have an opportunity to take a job that will move us to Corpus Christi for two years.  Neither one of us like city living at all.  So, are there any areas that would be not too far of a commute into Corpus that would be more rural?  Any advice on where to look would be welcomed.

    Thanks so much.

@seedsower - Yeah, it depresses me.  We are in FL which is hot hot hot, even now.  All my kids and grandkids are here.  The 17 and 18 year old would probably go with us and our new baby of course :).  So I am torn as to move or not move but the job would be a HUGE jump in pay and we could really use that as I have been out of work over a year now.

Honestly I am not that familiar with Corpus Christi. I went there only once years ago. But I can say this, the beaches there are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I will say this- if its a jump in pay, it would prob help you doubly because texas is cheap to live in. Though I am not certain what the cost of living is in Corpus (Houston is the cheapest of all metro places in the US I can tell ya that), it prob will be cheaper than where you are. Depending on how close you are to the beach anyway (that can be costly, for good reason). Corpus isn't a huge place though (well... compared to Houston of course, but I'd say still its on the small scale as metro areas are concerned) but this is Texas... there is always rural. So chances are good you would find a place that suits your likes. I live minute from urban living, yet there are cows and goats just up the road from our house, and tons of farm land just minutes north of us. lol So yeah.. I'm sure you'd find something.
